The 8th Annual Hike the Lafitte Corridor will take place this year on Saturday, April 14, 2012 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Each year, Friends of Lafitte Corridor (FOLC) holds an annual hike where they lead the community through the three-mile stretch that will soon be constructed into the Lafitte Greenway. The site of the [...] On Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and the Federal Railroad Administration will hold public meetings on the topic of the New Orleans Rail Gateway Program. In order for the proposed site of the greenway to be constructed as a “rails with trails” type amenity on the segment of St. Louis [...] Tomorrow, Saturday February 4th, the Friends of Lafitte Corridor Hike Committee will meet to kick-off 2012 planning for the anticipated Spring walk. We invite all members of FOLC (and those who wish to participate) to join us at CC’s on Esplanade Avenue. The meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the private room. This [...] NEW ORLEANS, LA – The City and the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) announced that three public meetings will be held to review proposed locations for a skate park. In October 2011, a skateboard ramp was donated to the City and NORDC. The proposed locations for installation are Joe Brown Park, Behrman Memorial [...] Our regularly scheduled FOLC meeting will NOT occur this Thursday.
