Quick Facts

FOLC was founded in 2006. We have been advocating to preserve and revitalize the Lafitte Corridor and adjacent neighborhoods via the creation of a greenway. Read about our mission.

The City of New Orleans has contracted with Design Workshop to plan, design and construct a greenway in the Lafitte Corridor.

The official project website is: LafitteCorridorConnection.com.

Neighborhoods

Every New Orleans neighborhood stands to benefit from a healthier and more pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly environment in our City. This is part of the vision of FOLC’s Lafitte Corridor Greenway project. In addition, the Lafitte Corridor Greenway can introduce locals and visitors alike to many neighborhoods which are seldom in the limelight but which, nonetheless, capture the spirit of New Orleans in their own unique ways.

This section of FOLC’s website is dedicated to New Orleans neighborhoods including the five neighborhoods (Treme, Tulane Gravier, Mid City, Faubourg St. John & Lakeview) through which the Lafitte Corridor passes and these neighborhoods nearby: City Park/Parkview, Lafitte and Iberville public housing developments; Fairgrounds; Gentilly; Sixth Ward; Seventh Ward; Central Business District; and the Vieux Carre. If you have pictures to share of buildings or events (current or past) in any of these neighborhoods, please consider sharing them with us. Email our Webmaster your photos and please include the information we need to give proper credit to the photographer.
